This piece of Yew came from a ancient moated farmhouse which was abandoned in the early 1800's.The yew hedge was the inner defence of the moat but once abandoned the hedge became several dozen full grown tree's. The farm house was renovated and refurbished just before the pandemic and I was able to obtain several logs and kept them in my workshop to fully season until a few months ago when the wood was ready to use.I kept the design simple but elegant ( I thought so) to produce this stunning fruit bowl which will look good on any table or surface. Yew has a unique grain and you can see a flash of the outer wood on one side.
