Full description
This timeless komebukuro or rice bag has been created from Japanese striped fabric depicting various traditional patterns in shades of blue, black and a ruby red contrast. Patterns include asanoha, seigaiha and yagasuri. The fabric has been imported from Japan.
The rice bag, or komebukuro, is a drawstring bag that was traditionally made of scrap fabric to carry rice or other offerings to Japanese temples or shrines.
The bag is reversible with a light grey dotted cotton fabric that complements the striped patterns.
It measures 11cm (just over 4 inches) in height, width and depth. The striped fabric has been used to create the tabs that hold silver cord. The tabs covering the end of the cord have been created from the Japanese fabric too.
The bag would make a lovely gift bag for someone special, and holds a lot given its size.
