applique & freehand embroidered fancy zombie lady notebook cover with A5 sketchbook inside - lilac / purple.
this fancy zombie is wearing a pretty floral liberty print straightjacket. her lilac hair is decorated with tiny flowers, ferns & skulls, cut from co-ordinating cottons in pinks, purples & mustard. her red stitched lips contrast with her deathly pale blue linen face.
i individually hand-cut each tiny piece fabric, and then (ever so patiently) layer & applique them onto cotton calico to build up the image, before “drawing” the intricate details on freehand, using free motion embroidery.
there's no computerised wizardry here; each cover is made entirely on a domestic sewing machine.
it's entirely cut, stitched and handmade , with care, by me, ensuring each notebook cover is unique, well made and securely constructed.
the slipcover itself is made from heavy weight calico which has been pre-washed several times so it’s soft and should not shrink when washed.
the seams are overlocked and topstitched and the cover is stiffened with interfacing.
the calico cover is washable and re-usable, simply replace the A5 sketchbook when it's full. the sketchbooks are manufactured in the UK. they are quality casebound hard cover books, containing all media cartridge paper. the books themselves measure approx. 21.5cm x 15cm
