I made my first nature calendar last year after I had collected a small number of calendar quality photographs from my wildlife watching expeditions. I live in Stirlingshire, just off the West Highland Way and I do have a lot of wildlife close by, however getting close enough to photograph wildlife has been a real learning experience in fieldcraft.

Some of the photographs featured in this calendar took a long time to obtain. The kingfisher cover shot, whish is also featured in August, took over 2 years and hundreds of hours of trying different locations, which is why it gets the cover shot! The Pine Marten photograph in woodland involved hiding out in a forest for 2 days straight, with the marvellous mustelid moseying onto the log late in the evening of the second day.

The production costs of the calendar are high, and after seller fees this is just a break even product for me, but it lets me share the wonderful wildlife encounters I've been lucky to have.
