I use leaves in my designs often because I take so much inspiration from nature. I combined it for these earrings with a completely contrasting, but nonetheless unchanged throughout history, sword (or katana I guess would be more precise). Placing natural items, like leaves, with manmade items, like a sword, ties in with my need for cohesive contrast that permeates my work
