Item details
Part of a series of insects and mini beasts which work well in framed groups with my other insect illustrations. Such a joy for me to paint, with their intricate markings and details. Probably my favourite beetle, the Tansy beetle is endangered and only found in certain wetland areas where its favourite food plant is the Tansy plant. One possible reason for its decline was that in Victorian times, they were sought after for their wings, which were used as sequins!
