The pieces of Walnut were quite short and I mused long and hard about what to do with these small but beautiful pieces of Walnut and as soon as I saw the contrast with the stunning grain of creamy Sycamore - I could see how wonderfully the colours complemented each other and I wanted to maximise their beauty. So as it's my experimental season (this goes on throughout the year!) I thought supposing I joined the two woods as one and went from there. The result was quite astounding for me as I turned, seeing the harmony between the timbers coming together - amazing. So I'm going to do this more often - I do love totally unique products and this one really fits the bill, I hope you all like it as much as I do...

Full description
A large Rolling Pin to bring perfection to all your pastry making and great for rolling biscuits and icing. This one has smashing Walnut wood handles with lovely dark brown and golden brown stripes with black flecking running through them and a fantastic silky blonde Sycamore roller that shimmers and glows with lovely markings and undulations. The Walnut came from a broken shelf I spotted in a skip near the Abbey Gardens here in Waltham Abbey and the Sycamore is from Yorkshire. It feels super smooth all over and I've designed the handles so the rolling experience is even and flowing. This is a great addition to the kitchen for all cooks, it's always good to enjoy making pies, tarts and biscuits with beautiful utensils. Gives a good sense of satisfaction and the brilliant thing about wooden Rolling Pins is that they roll the dough rather than stretching it so it doesn't shrink - we don't want shrunken pastry after all that effort!
