This blue and white turtle will look good in any room. I have used small pieces of tide tumbled pottery, some decades or even centuries old. Other embellishments have been added such as ceramic tiles. If you love the sea and sea creatures this will be a lovely addition to your coastal display.

The size is 19.5 x 15cm with a blue satin ribbon to hang. It is also quite tactile and invites being handled. With 2 coats of varnish to finish and silver paint on the reverse.

It's fitting to make a sea creature from pieces found on the beach that the tide has left behind and I love to make different animals and hearts from these broken pieces.

Even as a child I loved to collect what I found on the beach, as many others do. I collected them all and separated them out, beautiful shells, pretty pebbles, sparkly sea glass gems and amazing vintage pottery shards that have been tumbling about in the surf for decades and some for centuries.

I love to imaging what the crockery looked like in the days when it graced the tables of our ancestors. I especially love the blue and white but occasionally find coloured pieces as well.

Sometimes I have to make several trips to be able to find enough to make one piece of art. Do I mind? No, of course not!
