GRANDAD
Grandad painted the originals
in Olden days past,
I wish that time didn’t go so fast,
I was still a child
when he gave them to me;
I wish I had more from his history.
When I was born he was 55,
I didn’t see him painting
when I was alive,
now I wish I’d bought him paints
when he retired,
but now he’s past on,
his talent’s expired.
(I didn’t think of buying him paints then –
I was only 10)
I made these prints from his Originals
for all to see;
I hope he feels proud
and is happy like me,
seeing his talent revived
on the world wide web
should give him a thrill,
even though he is dead;
his spirit lives on
and I know he can see
significant things that happen
in our family.
