I love every aspect of the natural world, from its landscapes and colours to its plants and wildlife - hopefully that is reflected in my work.
A variety of birds visit my garden, and I’m lucky enough to get fleeting glimpses of the wrens as they forage around the bushes outside my workshop window. Small but feisty and with subtle markings, these little creatures have inspired my glassy replicas.

So small they are easily overlooked, the wren is a popular and amazingly loud garden bird. I often see them hopping around my flowerpots keeping one eye on my curious cats.
My delicate glass version adds cheer to any room, whether it is hung on a plain wall or in a window. Carefully cut and made to resemble the bird as closely as possible, it is strung on invisible cord to give the appearance that it is floating. Ribbon can be added if the piece needs more room to hang, perhaps from a window latch.
The wren, which has a slightly textured surface, is approximately 9cm long and about 5cm tall. As they are made by hand and it is impossible to get each one identical, a slight variation in markings and colour will occur - this means that yours will be unique!
This would make a great gift for bird watchers, bird lovers, nature enthusiasts and those who just love the countryside. More bird designs are being planned to join the flock – if you have a favourite which is not shown here, please contact me and I will try to create one to your specifications.
