This set was inspired by the shells I see on my regular walks along the Thanet coastline.
I found the shell that these are moulded from when I was at an outdoor monthly craft fair overlooking Margate Main Sands.
I loved the size and detail of the shell, so I took an impression using Siligum. I then used a compound called silver clay which is recycled pure silver combined with a little binder and water to mould the shells. These were left to dry completely then fired in my kiln, which burnt off the water and binder leaving pure fine silver.
