The panel is an abstract landscape which I always call Badachro after a very old and broken panel I was given by a man who lived there on the West coast of Scotland. This design is based on that one.

This is a freestanding leaded stained glass panel, surrounded by a beautiful handmade, locally sourced Scottish oak frame.
The design is an abstract landscape using a purple colour palette with splashes of sharp contrasting colours.
The main feature is the moon which is depicted by the addition of a pale purple hand blown glass rondel, it rises over a heavily textured clear sea. Purple and indigo make up the hill and sky with a mixture of purple, pink, clear and green rectangular pieces which I like to think hint at flowers.
The chunky, oiled oak frame gives a beautiful solid, tactile, warm feel and allows you to freestand the panel.
Once the glass is cut, the panel is then leaded, soldered and cemented. The finished piece is placed into the oak frame. Two small blocks of oak are fixed onto the back to hold the glass securely in place.
It is a simple, classy striking panel which would look great on any windowsill. Try moving it from room to room as the mood takes you.
