Building forms with coils of clay vertically is an ancient technique and used extensively to create beautiful ceramics. With this bowl I used the coils horizontally to build the dish and then added a rim. The texture created needed a special glaze to enhance it so I chose my favourite reactive blue glaze. The underside of the bowl is glazed with a different reactive glaze with spots of the inner blue added.
