I live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world and I have been making images inspired by the buildings and views that I cycle and walk through daily. I use and combine various printing techniques and also print onto a variety of papers. In this image I have printed on pages taken from Gill's School Geography book dated from the 1900's. Facts and images show through the ink gaps - very interesting facts of 1900 including from the section on education 'there are five Universities' !
This piece could be framed to show the book pages or only the central lino printed image.
Hertford Bridge, commonly called the Bridge of Sighs (because of supposed similarity to that in Venice), joins two parts of Hertford College over New College Lane. Viewed in this case from Catte Street.
