Full description
This bright and colourful red macaw parrot has been sculpted from woollen fibres using a needle felting technique to manipulate the fibres into shape. A white core has been made in the basic shape and then coloured fibres used to "paint" the top coat. The beak has been made from clay and the feet have been waxed. Each feather on the wings has been individually needle felted representing many hours of work. A small tree stump has been made, also by needle felting for the parrot to perch on and the whole ensemble mounted on a rustic wooden slice.
The parrot measures approximately 37cm from the head to the tip of tail, and the whole ornament stands 28cm high.
Please note: the parrot is permanently mounted on the tree stump and cannot be removed.
