A Bud vase turned from Epping Forest Hornbeam in a contemporary twist on a classic shape. Great for buttonholes or corsages, spring flowers, muscari, snowdrops, lily of the valley, tulips, miniature daffodils, primroses, violets & wild flowers & botanicals, blossom, dainty flower stems, delicate grasses, feathers & fancies.
I love this shape – a new elongated style and a decorative black line burnt in on the rim, so smooth and clean with a smart linear profile – I was delighted with the result and I knew this Hornbeam from Epping Forest was waiting for me to turn it into something both beautiful and useful! Has a beautiful grain with amazing little lines and flecks in a caramel colour running through with a gentle watermark looking pattern – quite mystical. Feels super silky in your hand and is very stable.
Supplied with a glass test tube for water to keep your flowers looking fresh and bright. Perfect decoration for a lunch table, window ledge, mantelpiece, bookshelf or desk to brighten your day and bring the garden into the contemporary or farmhouse style home.
Buff with a soft cloth or polish with beeswax for an extra sheen.
Measures 3.5inches high (9cm) with a 2.25inch (6cm) diameter base and glass test tube insert 3inches (7.5cm) long, 3/8ths inch (1cm) diameter.

I hardly ever come across any Hornbeam - it's a beautiful twisting tree, quite mystical, with leaves resembling Beech when they first open and so often the two trees are confused with one another to the unpractised eye. The grain has an amazing watermark effect and it particularly lends itself to being turned into a vase and I just love this one...
