Shop Announcement:

Hello! I specialise in delicate and dainty jewellery made from silver and top quality gemstones that I source mainly direct from a family of gemstone cutters in Jaipur, India, before bringing them back to make into jewellery in my studio overlooking Mounts Bay in beautiful Cornwall.

All of my jewellery comes boxed so it's ready to give as a present to someone special - and that includes yourself!

Not everything I make is listed here - if you've seen something at a craft fair and can't find it here, please get in touch with me directly.

Black Spinel Briolette Pendant on Gold Chain

Description

Black Spinel is the blackest of black stone - it's called Zed black, as there's nothing blacker. But, while it's black, it also has the highest refractive index of any stone so light passes through and is turned into masses of rainbows. If it were clear, it'd be like a diamond, but instead it has a wonderful and unusual glittering sparkle - customers often ask if it's purple or blue, as they pick up the upper spectrum of the rainbow.

This briolette stone, sourced in Jaipur, has been hand wrapped in 14K Gold fill wire and hung from a 14K Gold fill chain. Gold fill is the compromise between affordability and durability - it's more affordable than solid gold, and more durable than gold plating. 24 times more durable in fact, as it's 24 times thicker than gold plating and bonded onto the surface.

The chain comes in your choice of 3 lengths: 16, 18 or 20 inches.

This pendant is available in Sterling Silver and 14K Rose Gold Fill.

Matching earrings are also available.
