Full description

This bright and colourful peacock has been sculpted using a needle felting technique. A core of woollen fibres have been sculpted into shape using a barbed felting needle and then covered with appropriately coloured merino wool fibres. The tail feathers have been made individually and mounted on a felt base. The feathers on the wings and back are all individually needle felted. His legs have been felted over a thick wire/wooden base to provide good stability and the peacock has been mounted on a wooden base which has felt on the underside to prevent scratching of furniture.

This peacock measures approximately 26cm (10.25") tall and 40cm (15.75") in length and represents many hours work.
