Whilst woodturning, the shape and size of the bowl was determined by the wood itself.
It has been made from a tree that was taken down from a friend's garden.

This unique small Sycamore wood bowl is perfect for a number of uses. It could hold your special reiki crystals, it could be used as an exclusive piece within your home or in your office. It has been upcycled from reclaimed wood. A perfect present for a birthday, Christmas or even your 5th Wedding Anniversary.
The bowl is approximately 15 cm in diameter, approximately 4 cm in depth inside, and approximately 5 cm in height.
The items within the bowl in the photographs are not included in the sale.

I am a firm believer in upcycling using reclaimed wood whenever possible. I often recycle the packaging I send out my items in.
This dish is hand wash only and not suitable for dishwashers.
A piece of wood was selected then cut down to a suitable size to be woodturned. It was shaped on a woodturning lathe to a roughly finished final form before being sanded to a smooth finish. Two grooves were cut into the bowl then these grooves were filled with epoxy. The bowl is smooth to the touch and has been finished with several coats of Carnauba Wax. The Wax used is food safe. Any cracks in the wood are stabilised using superglue.
