I was contacted by Shepton Mallet Snowdrop Festival to make a piece expressing Hope in Nature.

A stained glass panel 16 cm. x 26 cm. cm with the script reading ‘Hope in Nature’ which is the message of the Shepton Mallet Snowdrop project. The muted transparent blue, pink, tan ‘seeded’ base glass depict a snail, singing wren, crocus and the streaky white semi opaic glass to the right has a host of snowdrops. For me these are the joyful first signs of spring days can still be dark, but lighter times are on their way.
I used an etched drawing technique into traditional stains before permanently firing into the glass. The piece is leaded with fine thin lead came. Hanging wire fixings are not included since I envisaged it propped on a window sill. Hooks can be added if preferred.
This is unique and took months since original sketch to cemented and polished final piece
