Full description
This is the first of a new design of suncatcher chimes. The mobile can be hung where it will catch the light, and it even looks great on a rainy day and in low light as can be seen in the photos. We have used glass of all the colours we find on the beach and tumbled the pieces so they are rounded and smooth. The coloured glass has come from old bottles so all the pieces are curved in some way. The blue glass has probably come from a Milk of Magnesia medicine bottle. The suncatcher looks lovely in the light but also sounds nice when brushed across by a hand, as the pieces of glass tinkle on each other. The metal used to hang the glass is silver plate. This is a gorgeous, versatile piece which can be hung almost anywhere.
The sun catcher is 18 cm high and 12 cm wide. It comes with a length of transparent cord.
Our sun catchers are individually hand made in Chudleigh, Devon. We collect our materials ourselves, mainly from local beaches. Each piece of glass is unique, so each sun catcher is unique. We only use materials which have rounded edges, which is why we tumble pieces which have rough edges (this continues the process begun by the waves) until they are smooth.
The sun catcher will be delivered by royal mail. We usually post items within one working day of receiving payment.
