Full description
This original 1950/60's dressing table, from the British manufacturer Avalon Yatton, main frame, sides and back have been hand painted in a high quality Cobalt Blue furniture paint. It's gorgeous teak top, removed of all it's original varnish, has been finished with 3 coats of Teal oil to really bring out the rich coloured wood and compliment the blue.
The 2 small top draw fronts and interiors, also painted cobalt blue, still maintain the pieces original handles are painted white. The 2 lower main storage draws edges are painted and the fronts covered in a Geometric Nova Patterned Blue, White & Gold wallpaper and finished with 3 coats of matt varnish.
This is a fantastic looking piece of Mid Century British made furniture. It's both a practical storage item which has a classic retro look, perfectly suited for a modern home. It would make a great small living room sideboard, chest of drawers, hall table or indeed as it's original purpose, a dressing table.
