Full description
The seahorse, symbol of calm, patience, peace and understanding, revered by the Ancients of Greece and Rome as a creature dear to the gods of the sea. The males give birth, too. This stylized representation of a seahorse, exotically maned and winged, was carved from a small block of plaster of Paris, then painted in acrylics and varnished to give a tough, shiny surface. The use of exterior varnish makes the carving suitable for hanging indoors or out. There's a saw-toothed hanger screwed to the back so the piece can be hung from a nail or hook. Size: 14 c.m. x 6 c.m. x about 2 c.m. deep.
