Cooking is an integral part of all our lives, and using a beautiful hand crafted wooden spatula is a delight. I love making cooking spatulas as they have the potential to see use every single day without any effort. As always, using naturally wind blown trees or those felled by arborists feels like a great way to keep the tree alive with a new lease of life!
Spatulas make a great gift to yourself or others.

Full description
A wonderfully spalted Birch wood spatula. The striking black bands run down the length of the wood in a pleasing way. The thinned blade end and the crank in the head, allow this to get under items easily for flipping them. Great for using with a stir fry or a batch of pancakes!
This spatula has been made using traditional methods splitting the material out from a fresh sawn log, sourced from a local tree surgeon. A rough shape for the spatula is then axed out, before moving onto a variety of knives to hone the shape. Once dry, the spatula has had my makers mark burned on. The spatula has then been burnished with a scottish pebble and sealed using organic food grade linseed oil.
Spatula care-
Your spatula is designed to be loved and used, and with time it'll develop a beautiful 'used' patina. To clean your spatula- simply hand wash in soapy water, rinse and leave to dry. Do not leave your spatula soaking for long periods in water or wash in a dishwasher.
Your spatula will be dispatched to you in recycled, eco-friendly and plastic-free packaging, and this can be placed directly into composting or your paper recycling bin.
