Silver Maru Round Pendant with Pearls - The Voyager

Silver Maru Round Pendant with Pearls - The Voyager
£30.00 1 Available
Love this

This pendant and necklace were inspired by those who love to travel. The pendant features a double Maru, the Japanese word for circle, made from silver and symbolic of a safe return. Two pearls, a Peacock Pearl with beautiful undertones of green and purple and a lustrous white Baroque Pearl drop represent the sea and a simple silver feather represents the air. The pendant is approximately 30mm in length and hangs from an 18 inch silver rope chain.

Maru is the Japanese word for Circle. But its meaning goes far beyond, it is symbolic of perfection, completion/success and return. Often in Japan, ships are suffixed with the word maru as a way to ensure their safe return. The circle is used to indicate "correct" when marking papers. These things were the inspiration for my Maru collection. To express a celebration of your successes, whether completion of a project,or degree or endeavour. Or to represent a wish for return, whether from travels or parted friends.
