The Japanese fabrics I have been using to create my masks have encouraged me to explore Japanese culture and accessories.

Full description

The stunning Japanese peach tiny blossoms fabric has been used to create this pretty gilded Japanese rice bag. The fabric has an apricot background filled with gilded peach clouds and gold patterns, and thin black tree branches of tiny white and pink blossoms. It is complimented with a a light olive green spotted fabric for the reverse.

The rice bag, or komebukuro, is a drawstring bag that was traditionally made of scrap fabric to carry rice or other offerings to Japanese temples or shrines.

The bag is reversible.

It measures approximately 12cm (4 1/2 inches) in height, width and depth. The Japanese fabric has been used to create the tabs to hold gold ribbon ties. The traditional tabs at the end of the ribbon have been crafted from Japanese fabric too.

The bag would make a lovely gift bag for someone special, and holds a lot given its size, as can be seen in the photos.

It is also available in turquoise and lilac.

Please note that the accessories are for photographic props only and do not come with the bag, but could be used as gift ideas.
