I always like to have a pretty box on my mantelpiece or in the kitchen or bedroom rather than a brightly coloured basic matchbox – they seem so much nicer to use, somehow; I personally have a number of them, matching them to the decor of the room or to the season!

I have painted this larger size matchbox and decorated it with an image from a napkin, then varnished it for protection.
The image is wrapped around the box so that both sides are decorated.
The matchbox measures 6.5 x 11 x 1.75 cms (2.5 x 4 3/8 x 0.75 inches).
The matches are Bryant & May Extra Long matches so that you can refill the box once they are used.
