£20 when Perfect, now £15. Shiny silver pewter hare and bear brooch, handmade with blue Swarovski pearl cabochon.
A couple of years ago, I was asked to make a brooch based on the hare and bear Christmas ad of a popular upmarket department store. This is one of the designs I came up with.
Whoops! The bear's ear flattened when I was polishing it- it hadn't been filled sufficiently. Still an attractive brooch, though, and perhaps you wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't pointed it out!
This striking piece of jewellery has been made by hand from modern pewter, which is lead-free and non-tarnish. I have raised the design on the sheet metal using a variety of hand tools. Please note, the colour on the metal is a reflection. The finished item is light in weight and has a 30mm pin with safety catch on the reverse. The brooch measures 37mm in diameter, and will be sent to you in tissue in an organza bag. It is all ready to be sent by first class post.
