I have always had an interest in Oriental art and design. I have made my version of a traditional komekukuro, using lovely printed cotton featuring peacocks; favourite Japanese birds.

Full description
Japanese rice bags were once used to carry offerings of rice or dried beans to temple ceremonies. This rice bag is made in the style of a traditional 'komebukuro'. It is made from very attractive printed quality cotton featuring peacocks. It is closed by means of straps passed through 8 tabs. Each of the 4 sides is approximately 7.5" square making a roomy bag for hobby projects, cosmetics, personal items or it would make a useful 'festival' bag or gift bag. It consists of 3 layers; outer cotton fabric, batting & cotton lining.
