I love quirky USB drives and keys and having something on my desk that is functional, pleasing to the eye and recycled is a great combination.
I also wanted to preserve there retro feel so found a way to incorporate the original disk.

Twenty years ago every computer had a floppy drive but not today, However, this retro tech has a useful twist.
Adapted with a USB cable and the addition of a 32GB Kingston USB key this is now a functional steampunk retro USB drive that will look great on any desk. The drive also has a latching disk and read/wite light.
The drive has been sanded, hand painted and given a hard coat finish to protect the paint effect as much as possible and has a movable disk.
The USB key inside can be changed to whatever size you want and I can provide details on how to do this.
Every repurposed/upcycled item I make is unique no two items will ever be the same.
Materials that I use may have the odd dent or ding which adds to their history and uniqueness of the finished article, 90% of all my makes are repurposed items with the other 10% being as recyclable as possible
