A whimsical depiction of a Hare running through open countryside on a clear moonlit night, with the stars sparkling on him from high above.

This beautiful Demi Lune (Half Moon) side table is hand-painted in Midnight-Blue furniture paint and features a solid brass running Hare on the front draw handle. The table top, sides and draw front have been varnished with 2 coats of hardwearing satin varnish containing a fine subtle gold furniture glitter. The long-curved legs give the piece an elegant, sophisticated style suitable for any room.

I wanted to create a piece of unique furniture sympathetic to it's original design.

In many cultures' mythology, the Hare has a special connection with the moon. It’s almost certainly because Hare’s are often seen on moonlit nights and whether real or imaginary the different phases of the moon's cycle are associated our moods and the madness of the Hare is a commonly held belief.
