The opportunity to capture this unique moment, showing the first steam mainline steam locomotive to have been built in almost 50 years was too much to resist.

I wanted to find a location that would give me the chance to link the new with the old, Combining a location where, a sign had been erected by the original LNER to inform the passenger of their progress (150 miles to go until they reached Edinburgh), where the locomotive would also be working hard and the lighting I preyed would backlight the steam. A rare occasion where everything played together to create one of my favourite images of all time. 31/01/2009.
