Designed to match Maddie's cowl pattern of the same name, the Soft-Hearted Hat is a lightweight but cosy accessory, combining single-round stripes in garter stitch with slipped stitches and a small amount of lace. This patterning creates a gorgeously satisfying texture, which swirls around the hat, making it an interesting and intuitive knit.

The pattern includes charts (and equivalent written instructions), photographs, a schematic and has been professionally tech edited.

3 x 25g of Jamieson & Smith's 2ply Jumper Weight (114m per 25g; 100% Shetland wool) 1 ball of main colour & 2 balls of contrast colour
