Item details
Early in 2020 an apple tree had to come down in a local garden. It was dead standing and showing early sign of rot. Caught early enough has no ill effect on the strength of the wood, but can lead to lovely patterns and deep colour forming in the wood. This piece had a distinct smell of cider as I was carving it. The little knot featured on the handle is where a branch once tried to grow. It now makes a comfortable grip for your hand!
