I love to store away household bits & bobs in tins and boxes which are attractive enough to be left out on show if necessary.
The unusual old map theme on this napkin seemed ideal for decorating boxes and other home items, to make them not only attractive and well-loved/aged looking but perhaps also to be more appropriate for more masculine ‘stuff’!

Full description
This is a plain silver coloured tin with a decorated lid.
The lid was painted in a dark base colour and then a crackled cream to give it an aged/shabby chic look. An unusual antique/vintage map paper napkin image was then used to decorate it, and the lid then varnished twice for protection.
The wrinkled nature of the applied napkin adds to the old and used look of the tin; I purposefully did not multi-sand and varnish the image but left it to be shabby looking and also tactile.
The tin measures 9” wide x 7.25” x 3.5” height (23 x 18.5 x 9 cms).
This is an attractive and unusual storage tin which can be used for anything you wish (although I would not recommend it for food items) from letters, stationery and photos to treasures and other memorabilia – particularly, perhaps, travel memorabilia.
