For Londoners the commute to work is long, hot and often full of annoyances. And TfL certainly knows how to charge us for it. So, when something the size of a credit card can cost upwards of £100 per month, it might as well look nice.
So I thought I’d make something to keep that expensive little card safe, which just so happens also looks nice for us commuters to start and end the day with. Who wants to make do with a boring black or Ikea plastic wallet these days? Especially when you could have a card holder in on trend African print fabric.
This card holder is not only useful for Oyster cards, but is also the perfect size for any credit card sized item - travel card, bus pass, rail tickets, ID Card, Driving Licence, credit cards, etc.
The exterior of this handmade and one-off colour way card holder is made from Ghanaian wax print cotton fabric in purple and white, bought from Obuasi Market in Ghana. The inside is made from pink and yellow cotton.
Closed, the card holder measures approx 9.5cm (3.7in)by 6cm (2.4in) and holds credit card sized items.
10% of the sale price will be donated to a Ghanaian charity.
