The penannular design of this shawl pin was very popular in Celtic and Pictish culture. The name means "incomplete circle" - referring to the gap that the pin passes through.
As an avid knitter I have a ton of shawls (not *quite* literally) and they always benefit from a nice pin to finish off the look. I made this one as a prototype but now I have an even more beautiful sterling silver one (no, that one's not for sale!) so this one needs a new home.

Full description
You can wear this to pin a scarf or shawl in place, or as a decorative brooch. It's handmade from beaten copper and measures approximately 4cm x 5cm.
