This black patent leather would have been destined to be made in to a handbag, but had too many imperfections in the leather embossing and patent finish to make it. This piece is almost perfect and I felt it had to be made in to a handbag shaped book, the design means that it can be hung up on its goatskin strap, or just pulled tight with the pencil in situ so that the book is fastened closed. It is lined with Chinese tissue paper that came as packaging for a white leather bar stool, which left lovely brown patterns all over it!

Full description
Black leather book with attached pencil (solid graphic stick) designed to hang up if required. The whole book measures 20 x 21 x 3cm and the pencil sits of the outside of the book to form part of the fastening system. The paper is 120g/m2 white cartridge paper and the book is sewn together with long-lasting Ritza woven polyester saddlery thread. The book is unique, signed and numbered (no. 2176) and comes in its own hand-made gift box.
