As a Pagan, I have an altar which I use to display things of importance to me in my religion. I have it proudly displayed downstairs on a high bookcase (because... cats). However, it is not very practical for working with being that I have to stand in front of it and it is in the most used room in the house. This is when I came up with the idea of a hidden altar, one I could pull out as needed when I wanted privacy. I made my own (very similar to this one) and it's had a lot of use. Over time I have learnt a few things which I have put into use when making this one (thanks to burn marks from candles, I now varnish every tray).
