Shop Announcement:

As the Covid situation gradually eases it's lovely to know that we are now able to browse in shops, galleries and markets again. My Folksy shop will continue to be fully stocked so that you can also buy from the comfort of your own home. However the stock of some items is variable, as they're all made by hand by me and there are only 24 hours in the day! If you’re looking to buy some stained glass that isn’t currently in the shop please do get in touch. I'm also happy to make custom items so please feel free to contact me to discuss your ideas.

All of my glass pieces are made to order and I am reliant on the Royal Mail so please be patient once you’ve placed your order. I aim to despatch glass items within 7 days & cards 3 days (UK only).

If you have any questions about your order, want to send a gift message or need a quick delivery for a special occasion please do contact me. I'll do my best to help.

Stained Glass Narwhal hanging

Stained Glass Narwhal hanging
£35.00 2 Available
Love this

A stained glass Narwhal (tusked whale) made from a selection of blue glass with an impressive wire tusk and a ribbon for hanging.

Size: approx 17cm high x 35cm wide (Including wire tusk!)

Made using copper foil technique (Tiffany), with silvery grey coloured joints.

Suitable for indoor or outdoor use & looks especially good hung in front of a window.

N is for Narwhal! This Arctic whale is the fourteenth animal in my 2020 animal alphabet. I've made various glass animals over recent years but now I've set myself the challenge of creating a whole alphabet of stained glass animal hangings. After land based animals and birds I thought it was time to include a sea creature. The male Narwhal has a tusk, which was an interesting challenge to create as I designed the glass hanging.

As each hanging is made to order the textures and shades of glass used will vary depending on the stock in my studio.

I have made glass animals and other original designs for several years, but this year I have decided to attempt a glass animal alphabet.

At the end of the year I will make a donation of some of the profits from selling the glass alphabet hangings to Longfield Hospice in Minchinhampton, Gloucestershire. It's our local hospice and I want to support the work that they do.

Longfield supports adults in Gloucestershire who are living with life-limiting illness by:

- Providing free specialist care, support and advice from diagnosis to the end of life and bereavement
- Enabling people to live well and die in their place of choice
- Supporting families and carers
- Sharing our specialist knowledge with others
