Line in the Sand – Alternative desert landscape.
Bright block colours detailed with gold paint and heavy shadows.
Acrylic on Canvas (25x30cm)

This bold acrylic painting would be an excellent hone décor piece. The standout piece was inspired by vintage print ads and desert landscapes. I’ve used yellow ochre to colour the dunes/hills, colouring the sky phthalo blue and white. I have used gold to detail the sun and sunlight bouncing from the hills. The sap green cacti give the image a western feel and make the image pop. I used a Bold black sharpie to create the deep, contrasting shadow of the hills. Giving them a rugged yet sleek finish, making it stand out.

I loved making this, after coming across old vintage ads I wanted to use the block print style in this cactus painting. I felt this would add a bright uplifting detail to any room, it certainly cheered me up while i created it.
