Very lucky to find a piece of Beech in Epping Forest that was suitable for turning and carving into spatulas - this was lovely fresh wood and had that green nutty aroma floating up at me every time a made a cut - delicious!

Full description
This Spatula has a beautiful flecked grain pattern that's typical of Beech and it has a dainty little 'cat's paw' marking where the slice joins the turned handle. I love to make these unique utensils with a turned handle and then carve the slice/paddle with my very sharp knives. The paddle end is finely shaped so you can easily turn eggs, schnitzels, burgers easily and is great for your stir fries. This one has a long handle so is good in saucepans and frying pans as a flipper or stirrer. All my spatulas can be used as servers at the table. I've turned a ball bead on the end with three little grooves - just because I like to have functional items that are decorative into the bargain.
Measures 29.5cm (11.75in) long and 5cm (2in) wide.
