A small Cosmetic /Make-up/ Accessories bag made from modern designer and vintage fabrics.

This outer fabric of the bag is made from a linen fabric called 'Ipek Damask' (Fresco colourway) by the fabric and wallpaper design house Lewis and Wood. It features a stylised pattern of flowers and leaves in very muted tones of sage green, blue and pinky-red, all set on a pale cream ground. This fabric has been lined with interfacing to give additional body to the bag.

The bag has been lined using a vintage woven brocade, with flower and leaf sprays whose colours perfectly echo the same muted tones of the outer fabric. It has been finished with a dark red rayon tassel attached to the bright blue zip as a handy pull.

The bag measures approximately 25 cm wide by 18 cm tall and has a gusseted base to increase its capacity and to allow it to stand upright.

Lewis & Wood produce the most wonderful fabric and wallpaper designs for today's interiors, often using great contemporary British designers such as the decorative painter, Adam Calkin, who designed this fabric. It was inspired by Iznik textiles and ceramics.

Their design studio is located near my home in the Cotswolds, although their showroom is based at the Chelsea Harbour Design Centre in London - check it out next time you visit!

I am therefore always very happy when I come across even the smallest piece of their high end furnishing fabric which I can transform into something which is not only lovely to look at but is useful, such as this small cosmetic bag.
