Hello! My shop is looking a little depleted because I will be in Brittany for a couple of months from the 9th of July. Due to the new customs rules I can't take my finished artwork or wools with me, but I will, however, be able to take pet portrait commissions for delivery in October, November and December. So if you would like a life-like, lasting memento of your pet, please contact me.
I love dragons. For 13 years I designed and made dragons for the UK craft markets and sold them at shows the length and breadth of England. In 2016 I had a little flurry of needlefelted dragons and this one is my favourite. It's time for them to find a forever home so I'm looking for someone who is happy to provide the occasional square of good dark chocolate (they don't mind sharing!) and doesn't mind the odd singed patch on the carpet.
Needlefelting is a fantastically versatile technique which allows you to work in both 2D and 3D or a mixture of both. You layer the wool fibres and pierce them repeatedly with the special barbed felting needles. The more you pierce the wool the more the fibres are carried through and compacted. It takes time but it's well worth it!
