Hello! My shop is looking a little depleted because I will be in Brittany for a couple of months from the 9th of July. Due to the new customs rules I can't take my finished artwork or wools with me, but I will, however, be able to take pet portrait commissions for delivery in October, November and December. So if you would like a life-like, lasting memento of your pet, please contact me.
I was taking a break from a highland cow-making flurry and came across some images of rare breed pigs, the Gloucester Old Spot being one of the cutest. Wikipedia says that there are only 300 registered breeding sows at the moment. I met a couple of Old Spots at a friend's smallholding in Brittany this spring and had the absolute pleasure of spending half an hour rubbing their backs and giving them cuddles. Gorgeous things!
This one is in merino wool needlefelted onto a wet-felted background and has 3D elements. The deep frame allows you to see the depth of the work and as usual, I have escaped the boundaries by bringing his trotters out of the frame.
