I love to make art out of recycled fabrics found in charity shops. Sometimes I paint the background with fabric paints and add fabric shapes or another time I might use lots of fabric pieces for the background and paint it afterwards. I then stitch onto it using machine and hand embroidery to add more texture and colour. The result is a unique piece of art which I make into bags, cushions and book covers. The lovely plus is that it benefits charities and lessens landfill too!
Dimensions: 17 x 11 cms - will fit any A6 book
Lined paper - about 70 pages
Great gift for a writer, journalist, gardener etc.
I like to make new fabric out of recycled clothing, by dyeing, painting and embroidering mostly by machine but sometimes with added hand stitching, to create one-off pieces that are totally unique, ethically made, and a positive response to our growing concern about fashion being the second biggest polluter on the planet.
