Inspired by an enamelled art deco rose brooch that used to sit in my mother's jewellery box.

Full description
Original design handmade wet felted brooch, fastened with a secure brooch pin.
I have used three shades of deep orange (henna, cinnamon and blood orange) to make a cluster of felted roses.
Using traditional wet felting techniques I felt together 3 layers of merino wool, then cut to expose the middle layer of black. This gives the flowers their distinctive art deco look. The individual pieces are then shaped and sewn onto a felt backing, together with a silver coloured brooch pin.
The brooch is approximately 8cm wide x 7cm
