As a change from throwing on the wheel, I made this bowl completely by hand, using the 'pinch pot' method. I find it refreshing sometimes to have a break from the discipline of the wheel and just to play around with clay without worrying about the restrictions of time or symmetry.

Full description
Very unusual stoneware bowl with two little hand modelled ducks on the rim. The bowl is totally handmade, without the use of a pottery wheel and is therefore pleasingly irregular in shape, with more weight to it than a wheel thrown bowl. It is decorated with dark blue, pale blue and cream coloured wavy stripes on the inside with a pale blue exterior. It has a clear glossy stoneware glaze. It measures 18.5 cms across and is 6.5 cms deep and makes a perfect fruit bowl.
