I love hydrangeas so much, with their big floppy heads full of tiny flowers, and the different colours they turn throughout the change of seasons. I'm always like to keep the flowers as long as possible, even when they flower skeleton flowers clinging on into the winter, so I never like to cut them back. I had hydrangeas in my wedding bouquet so they are special to me too.
If you look at the colours they can be varying shades, so I've tried to emulate this in the colours I've chosen for this print. I've used 4 different colours, a blue, pink and 2 different greens. The greens are rolled together to create a mottled look, which is typical in these flowers. The blue is a special bright lapis blue, only available from Hawthorn Printmakers.
