I’ve made a few plant pot stakes over the past couple of months and was asked if I could make a dragonfly so this is just another to add to the collection.
They look rather pretty in a pot either singularly or in a group.
Each piece of glass has been hand cut, ground, foiled and soldered together, two small clear glass nuggets have been used for the the eyes, a copper coloured rod has been attached which measures approx 30 cms, this can be cut if you would like it shorter.
Whilst these can go in the garden I would recommend taking them in during the winter when the weather is cold and wet as this may effect the foil.
The glass used for this dragonfly is petrol blue English muffle glass and clear textured clear glass for the wings.
The dragonfly measures 12cms from wing tip to wing tip and the boy is 10cms approx and the stalk is 30 cms.
